Elevating user experiences in Scintilla Shopper Behavior and Channel Performance

Hidden Image

At Walmart Data Ventures, we are continuously working to improve our integrated insights ecosystem to empower you with increasingly accurate and actionable data. As we exit Q1, it’s the perfect time to reflect on some of the key enhancements we made to Scintilla Shopper Behavior and Channel Performance to help you drive your business at Walmart.

Shopper Behavior enhancements

Perform greater trend analysis with more historical data.

With access to more historical data, you can perform long-term trend analysis to reveal deeper patterns and shifts in consumer behavior and make more informed strategic decisions. That’s why we were proud to have expanded the data range in Shopper Behavior from 117 weeks to 3+ years.

By allowing for a more comprehensive analysis of buying patterns and trends, this deeper history can be particularly beneficial for categories that experience lower purchase frequencies.

Compare against the entire breadth of your competition with expanded Universal Product Code (UPC) limits.

Any time we can make your path to insights more efficient is added time you can spend focusing on delighting the Walmart customer. That’s why we expanded the UPC limit of the Switching report to accommodate 1.5x more products, enabling comprehensive insights into 60,000 different products in a single report. Additionally, we increased the UPC limits on the Best Customers, Switching Over Time, and Trial and Repeat reports to include 15x more products per report.

Now, you can garner the same great insights while spending less time running reports. And, if you have a broader assortment you can compare against the entirety of your competition more efficiently.

Shopper Behavior Assortment Deep Dive (ADD) enhancements

Streamline your assortment with the bottom 10% metrics callout.

Identifying which of your products are performing well, or not so well, is crucial for optimizing your business at Walmart. That’s why we introduced a feature in ADD to help you quickly determine which of your products are performing in the bottom 10% of key metrics.

Leveraging these insights can help you make more informed decisions when recommending products for de-listing, streamlining your assortment, and optimizing your products’ performance.

Visualize Force In and Force Out impacts faster to minimize the risk of lost sales.

Continuing to help you work more efficiently, the Assortment Summary view in ADD now includes Force In and Force Out capabilities directly within the Summary view scatterplot. With immediate visualization of the impact that Forcing In or Out products will have on other metrics, you can minimize the risk of lost sales and work faster by eliminating the need to switch between views.

Enhance collaboration by sharing ADD Customer Decision Tree (CDT) as “read-only.”

To foster enhanced collaboration and improved alignment across teams, we introduced the ability to share a “read-only” copy of the CDT in ADD. Now, when sharing the CDT with others in your organization, you can ensure stakeholders are working off the single, original source of truth when making strategic decisions for your business.

Channel Performance enhancements

Access immediate visibility into your products with the Quick Item Info Report.

The Quick Item Info report in Report Builder enables rapid visibility into the item-level status of your active, inactive, or deleted products. What does that mean? You can now quickly view and track specific product additions or updates, analyze bestsellers, and predict demand.

Gain inventory insights faster with the Store Level Drill Down’s store-level analysis.

To help you perform more thorough inspections of stock-related issues and take a more proactive approach to replenishment, we launched Store Level Drill Down for the Insights Dashboard. This upgrade enables access to granular, store-level in-stock performance and in-stock opportunity data, allowing you to investigate inventory imbalances within the supply chain.

A quarter of transformation

These are only a handful of the key improvements we were proud to introduce to our Scintilla subscribers earlier this year. We look forward to hearing how you leverage these updates—and for your continued feedback!
