Walmart Luminate will have a new name in 2025
Today we hosted our second-annual Inspire event where we brought together suppliers and merchants for a full day of conversations on how to analyze granular data to gain greater insights into your business – and what exciting opportunities the future holds for Walmart Data Ventures.
More than 1,200 people attended the event, where we underscored our vision for Data Ventures to be a global leader in insights and analytics. And like all great stories of growth and evolution, this one begins with a new name. Beginning next year, our integrated insights ecosystem, Walmart Luminate, will become Scintilla.
‘Scintilla’, a Latin term meaning ‘spark’, signifies the power of a single insight to ignite a new idea, much like how even the smallest, most granular piece of data can drive business decisions that make a significant impact. While the meaning of 'Scintilla' nods to our Walmart legacy, it also positions us for the future, enabling more seamless expansion to new markets and banners across our global enterprise. This expansion has already started, having launched our product suite in Mexico earlier this summer, and we’re excited to share it will be available in Canada later this month.
In the U.S., we have continued to gain momentum, and our insights ecosystem is proving to deliver value to both large and small-to-medium sized suppliers. Compared to last year, our client base has increased by 173%, and representation from small-to-medium sized businesses has grown more than 100% year-to-date. Most notably, we’ve successfully retained 100% of suppliers up for renewal this year, demonstrating sustained confidence in our innovative product solutions.
Our journey to unlock the full value of Walmart’s first-party insights began not so long ago, and we’re poised to deliver new business applications and ultimately maximize our impact as we transition Walmart Luminate to Scintilla next year. Welcome to our next chapter - let’s build something big together.
