Explore how Walmart Luminate Customer Perception and Channel Performance Charter can help sharpen your customer view
For families juggling hectic schedules, professionals short on time, or anyone looking to simplify their shopping routine, Walmart's pick-up and delivery services allow customers to shop online and have groceries delivered to their door or car. According to a recent Walmart Luminate Customer Perception survey, 36% of Walmart Spark Community Customers said they use Walmart’s pick-up or schedule delivery services.
Of those customers, 59% said they use the delivery service at least once per month while 54% said they use pick-up service at least once per month. 79% said they are more likely to use delivery services on weekdays. Comparatively, only 21% said they place delivery orders over the weekend.
A significant percentage of Walmart customers said the pick-up and delivery services help them save two of their most precious resources—time and money. Nearly four in 10 Walmart shoppers reported that the delivery services helped save them time and money by letting Walmart do the shopping for them.
Morning Routines:
Many Walmart shoppers are early risers. Almost half of those surveyed said they wake up between 7:00 am and 9:00 am (48%), followed by 45% who said they typically rise between 4:00 am and 6:00 am. Our survey also revealed that 53% of early risers (4:00 am – 6:00 am) fell within the age group of 35 to 44 years old.
Over 55% of shoppers said they prefer to use the morning hours to complete tasks–including grocery shopping. For these early birds, Walmart's Express On-Demand Early Morning Delivery is the perfect way to check shopping off their list.
Afternoon Routines:
With dinner fast approaching, the afternoon is prime time for meal planning. Our Walmart customer survey showed that 44% of respondents specifically reserve this time to make dinner decisions.
The afternoon is also when Walmart customers focus on finishing those to-do list tasks. 23% of customers surveyed said they prefer to complete errands and check things off their to-do list in the afternoon hours, of which 38% fall within the 55-74 age group.
Evening Routines:
A long day calls for some relaxation in the evening. According to our survey, most Walmart customers start winding down and preparing for bed after 6:00 pm and before 12:00 am. 42% begin their evening routine between 7:00 pm and 9:00pm, and 41% report going to bed between 10pm and midnight.
